Grants

Sharon Public School administrators, faculty, parents, students, and community members may apply for funding in support of enrichment projects and professional development that benefit the school community.

SEF funds a broad range of projects, including but not limited to those focusing on traditional academic subjects, visual and performing arts, promotion of multi-cultural and community learning experiences, and professional development.

Grant funds may be used for:

  • Innovative educational projects that fall outside the normal school budget

  • Consultants, guest speakers, artists, or performers who assist the project’s implementation

  • Tuition, training, and travel expenses related to the project’s goals

Annual Grant Cycle - SEF reviews proposals each spring for projects that are implemented the following academic year.

Intra-Year Grant Cycle - Intra-Year Grants are grants that are available to members of the Sharon community  outside of the regular grant cycle. They are offered for initiatives that support our mission whose activities will be completed by the end of SEF’s current grant cycle ending June 30th.

2020-2021 Grant Proposals

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, our school system is currently experiencing an unprecedented challenge and SEF would like to help teachers as they strive to educate our students in new and uncharted ways. SEF invites teachers and staff to submit requests for grants that will enhance online and virtual education while students are learning at home, as well as programs or projects that will support students’ emotional and social health. You may consider submitting grants for subscriptions to online resources, materials and supplies, webinars, training or any other program or project you believe will be beneficial.

To expedite the grant submission and review process, SEF is using an abbreviated application. We will review applications and provide decisions on a rolling basis and will notify applicants as soon as possible after receipt of the application. Grant recipients will receive instructions on submitting expenses and other responsibilities associated with the grant with notification of the award. You may complete the following grant application form (DOCX, on the left) or simply provide your answers in an email.

In the meantime, the Sharon Education Foundation is now accepting normal grant applications for the 2020-2021 academic year. To submit a grant application please fill out the grant application form below (PDF, on the right) and submit it no later than 5:00 PM, Monday, June 8th, 2020. Only electronic submissions will be considered.

Please submit applications by email to Sharon Education Foundation at sharoneducationfoundation@gmail.com.
