TEACHER TRIBUTES — THE BEST WAY TO THANK THE TEACHER WHO CHANGED EVERYTHING

You know the teacher. Every family has one.

The one your kid talks about at dinner. The one who figured out how to reach them when no one else had. The one who stayed after school, noticed something important, said exactly the right thing at exactly the right time.

Maybe it was a kindergarten teacher who made your shy kid feel safe on the first day. Maybe it's a middle school teacher who turned a reluctant reader into someone who actually likes books. Maybe it's a school counselor or a paraprofessional who showed up quietly, without recognition, and made a real difference.

The SEF Teacher Tribute Program has been running since 2001. It's one of the simplest and most meaningful things you can do to honor a Sharon educator.

Here's How It Works

You make a tax-deductible donation to SEF in the name of a teacher or staff member you want to recognize. That educator receives a certificate acknowledging their commitment to Sharon Public Schools — a tangible, meaningful piece of recognition that most teachers say they keep for years.

And your donation? It goes directly into SEF's grant fund, supporting innovative programs that benefit students across all of Sharon's schools.

So when you honor one teacher, you're actually supporting all of them.

Why It Means More Than a Gift Card

Teachers get a lot of mugs. A lot of gift cards. Those are thoughtful — but they're gone quickly.

A Teacher Tribute donation is different. The certificate tells the story of why this teacher matters. It says: someone in this child's family took the time to put a real dollar behind this thank-you. And the money goes somewhere meaningful — to fund the kind of creative, innovative programs that make teaching in Sharon rewarding in the first place.

It's the gift that tells a teacher their work is seen, valued, and worth investing in.

When to Give a Tribute

There's no wrong time. Some families do it at the end of the year. Some do it during Teacher Appreciation Week in May. Some do it mid-year, when a teacher does something that stops them in their tracks.

Any amount makes a difference.
